Website Changelog
(decided to start recording some of the work and edits to my business pages here)
Week Five
Look ma, I did my homework
Week Four
raise your hand if you spent mumblemumblehoursmumble trying to convert a :hover action on your selectors demo page to Javascript (which you don't understand) so it triggered on a click only then to actually open the weekly assignment video vs just the directions and realized your instructor is walking through the exact same thing but doing it a lot simpler?
just me?

Week Three
Xeriscaping: major css changes, primarily:
- changed layout from grid to flex based
- moved navigation from left to running across the top
- moved gallery images to be part of the Reviews page
the goal here was to make the site look less like it was made in 2002 and more like 2025 (which is in its own way annoying because IMO websites all look the same now??)
but also to simplify the overall structure so I was using fewer media queries and having a more natively responsive design
...edit to add: bless the clamp() and calc() functions
Week Two
spend the majority of this week trying to figure out how to mimic some interesting shapes in my inspo daycare page that are used in the testimonials
lots of work with image masks and flipping between different design structures to see which worked better with the alignments I was going for.
end result is not perfect (and mobile view is a mess still) but it's headed in the right direction
Week One
so. much. time. spent trying to get a repeating pattern of lines to make an elongated diamond grid for the background. used every iteration of linear gradient I could think of, and it was almost there but not quite, so for now it's just the larger version.
and image masking, which I've not used before, to create the avatar shape.
